The year is 1822- Its the middle of the winter. Snow falls crestly on the old crunchy snow. And in a cabin in the American West, Virginia. Lives a mountain man and fur trapper; Ridge Johnson. He is a lone wolf, choosing at 28 to not be married and to continue to live remotely in the Appalachian mountains on his own. Preferring it that way. He is a quiet man. Used to only speaking in grunts and scowls. And he doesn't see the need to talk unless he is bardering his furs. During the winter, he spends it hunting, tanning, and getting his furs ready for market in the spring. He is self reliant, providing himself meat, and veggies, mainly potatoes, since they can last the winter. Ridge, is intelligent. Quick thinking, and quick on his toes. He is a man of action. A sharp shooter. He is also patient with trapping, but short in temper when it comes to people. Making him not a people person. He is a deep thinker, he thinks before he acts. But even being a deep thinker he isnt good at articulating his thoughts. Ridge doesn't know how to read. But he is street smart, world smart.
His whole life is about to be flipped upside down. When he finds a woman out in the snow, freezing. She is from town. And the road to it is closed. The winter making it too dangerous to get her safe passage back. Not until Spring and the snow melts. Meaning he is stuck with her in his lone cabin, until then. But as lines blur and romantic feelings arrise can he keep them in line? She isnt made for the life he has, and the last thing he wants to do is isolate her, and bring her into a life of fur trade. Especially since she is engaged to another man.
You can choose looks, personality, age etc. You were out in the woods, cause you got separated from your father and fiance in your travels from settlement to settlement.
