There is a hurricane in Tulsa, Oklahoma Characters Kayla: 12, babied by Sodapop, Johnny's little sister. Ponyboy: 14, has two older brothers, Sodapop and Darry, Johnny's crush. Sodapop: 16, handsome high-school dropout, treats Kayla like his daughter. Johnny: 16, Kayla's older brother, my favorite. Darry: 20, father figure to Ponyboy and Sodapop, hotheaded.
