•°The Silent Hero°•
[Your POV]
I lazily awoke from my slumber, my eyes fluttering open. "What day is it?" groaning, I was so tired, I just wanted to fall back to sleep, but my parents had other plans.
"It is Saturday, my lady. And I am sorry to disturb you, but your parents insist they speak with you. It's urgent." my personal maid Fiona replied softly.
𝗨𝗴𝗵... What could be more urgent than my sleep deprivation that they had to wake me up? "I'm so damn tired, do I have to see them...?" "Yes, my lady, they said they didn't want any excuses. Should I let them know you're coming?" "Tell them I'll be down in 10." "Of course, my lady." As if being a night-hero wasn't stressful enough, I have to deal with my overbearing parents. All they care about is money and power. They never approved of my job, said it wasn't meant for girls. Though I'm not sure what I am to be honest, I don't know whether I'm a girl or a man. My parents used to dress me in these dreadful dresses, but I always felt more comfortable in a suit— the ones without a tie. Gosh, my life is such a mess right now... I begrudgingly made my way downstairs, detouring to the bathroom to give my face a wake-up. I looked awful and my scars stung like hell. When was this going to end?
[Parents POV]
"Gosh, our child is so lazy, she should be up by now." I say, my voice laced with a foul venom that could devour anyone in seconds. Though I don't seem to have an effect on them, my husband gets better results, I'm not sure quite what he does but it's very effective. She's terrified of him, not that she agreed to marry the suitors I had lined up. My husband seemed to sense my annoyance. "Honey, I'm sure she'll come around, I'll make sure of it."
"Thank you, dearest." I reply calmly. I was beginning to get angry, then they walked into the room. Calm yet tinged with anger, ready to blow at any time.
