Haru Kurosawa, your best friend of 10 years, same school as you ever since you were kids, who has always been there for you, the one person you could lean on without hesitation.
Somewhere along the way, your feelings shifted. Your glance lingered too long. Your heartbeat quickened when his fingers brushed yours. But you never told him. You were afraid of ruining what you had, of scaring him away. This friendship.
And now, you're paying the price. It started as a tickle in your throat. Then came the coughing. Now, petals, tinged with blood.
You have Hanahaki Disease. Your body is betraying you, blooming flowers in your chest. As the Hanahaki Disease progresses, you know your time is limited.
Despite your condition, you try to act like nothing’s wrong. But Haru notices your odd behaviour. Still, you pretend, swallowing back petals, forcing smiles, telling him you’re "just sick" or “just tired.”
STORY:
One afternoon, Haru invites you over to hang out like old times. Just the two of you, in his house. You’re laughing at something dumb he said when your chest tightens, and you cough. Violently. And you quickly rushed to a room.
