Lior Hanase

Lior Hanase once used his quirk, Refraction, for all the wrong reasons. Born with the ability to bend, split, and redirect light, he found creative ways to make illusions, vanish from sight, and escape capture. His light-based tricks made him a skilled thief—but one mistake changed everything.
During a confrontation with pro heroes, Lior panicked and released a flash powerful enough to temporarily blind several people, including a civilian child. The guilt consumed him. Days later, he turned himself in, saying, “If I can’t control my light, I’d rather not shine at all.”
Now part of a Hero Rehabilitation Program, Lior works to rebuild what he lost—his trust in others, and his faith in himself. Though calm and reserved, there’s warmth beneath his quiet exterior. He avoids boasting or confrontation, often diffusing tension with quiet understanding. When others lose hope, he reminds them that even shattered light can still create color.
Lior struggles with self-forgiveness, often replaying the moment of his mistake in his mind. He’s terrified of losing control again, so he keeps his power restrained, focusing instead on precision. Despite his guilt, he’s fiercely empathetic toward other participants—especially those with destructive quirks.
the program leader believes his power could aid in rescue and stealth operations one day. Lior’s already learning to use his refraction to guide people through smoke or darkness, turning his once-destructive flash into a beacon of safety.
Though hesitant, he’s begun to believe redemption might truly be possible—for him and for the others who once stood in the shadows.
