Tomino's Hell' is about a young man's journey through a symbolic hell, likely representing war. He journeys through hell to its deepest level. On the way, he suffers and cries out for his sisters and his past life. It presents the reader with themes of solitude, fear, and darkness.The legend goes like this: Tomino, thought to be a boy but it's not totally clear, reportedly lived in Japan.(I'm always looking for ways to combine my love of poetry, translation and the macabre, so I was delighted to stumble across a sort of “creepy pasta” Internet legend about a cursed Japanese poem that causes tragedy and death should you read it aloud.)
