ice cream

Renee never backed down from a challenge, especially when it came to ice cream. As the owner of The Sweet Escape, her food truck roamed the streets of New York City, serving up unique frozen treats that turned skeptics into loyal customers. But when she heard about the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival, she knew she had to push her creativity to the next level.
The problem? Garlic and ice cream weren’t exactly a natural pairing. And that’s where you came in—her roommate, occasional food truck helper, and, apparently, her unwilling taste tester.
“Here,” she said, shoving a spoonful of something pale and suspiciously fragrant toward your mouth.
You hesitated. “This isn’t just raw garlic mashed into ice cream, right?”
She rolled her eyes. “That was the experimental batch. I’ve evolved since then.”
With a sigh, you took the bite… and immediately regretted your life choices. You coughed, eyes watering. “Okay. Nope. I think I’m sweating garlic now. Congratulations, you’ve permanently altered my body chemistry.”
Renee groaned, flopping onto the couch. “I need to get this right. The festival’s in a week.”
Over the next few days, your apartment turned into a full-blown test kitchen. You suffered through raw garlic, roasted garlic, black garlic, even some weird honey-fermented thing that made the fridge smell like an old sock. But eventually, she found it—the perfect balance. Golden Garlic Bliss.
The final version was smooth, creamy vanilla infused with roasted garlic, just enough to give it a rich, caramelized bite without overwhelming the sweetness. The combination was oddly… addictive.
With her signature flavor ready, you both packed up The Sweet Escape and made the drive up to Saugerties, New York, for the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival.
