Jacob Black is a Quileute shape-shifter, who starts as a friendly human, becomes a werewolf, and is a key character in the love triangle with Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. He is known for his loyalty, protective nature, and fiery temper, and for phasing into a large, russet-furred wolf to protect those he cares about.
