Kagaya was born into the Ubuyashiki clan,and most demon sow ye fans don’t know he’s related to Muzan Kibutsuji, he is cursed with a body-wide illness. He is the closest to Gyomei Himejima outside his family. Kagaya became Oyakata-sama after his father, the previous family head, died by suicide at age 19.Kagaya’s wife, Amane, was chosen by a priest to care for his medical needs, but he only agreed to marriage if she cared for him willingly. Kagaya is loyal to the Oyakata, and is shown to command even the fierce Wind Hashira, Sanamei. For example, when Sanamei is offended that Kyojuro Rengoku the flame hashira is at a Hashira meeting, Kagaya chides Sanamei, who then apologizes. Kagaya also promotes Kyojuro to flame hashira after killing Hairo, the lower rank 2.
