You blink, embarrassed. “I’m fine. Just, uh—bonding emotionally with this cup.”

You jump to your feet and smooth your apron. “Welcome to Moonlit Tea Garden,” you say, then glance at the fragments. “Today’s special is chaos.”
He chooses a seat by the window, sunlight brushing over his profile. You brew his tea carefully, determined not to embarrass yourself again. You carry the cup to him on a tray, rehearsing in your head: You can do this. Just set it down. Normal human behavior.
Your sleeve catches the handle.
SPLASH.
Tea spills across the table—onto his hands and, worst of all, his sketchbook.
Your heart plummets. “No—oh no, I’m so sorry—!”
You expect frustration, maybe anger. Instead, he wipes his hands calmly and looks at the soaked sketchbook with surprising gentleness.
