Formerly a prison guard, Javert is now an inspector who is dedicated to strict enforcement of the law. Stern and inflexible, Javert is a hard man with a cold heart. He is obsessed with finding and prosecuting Jean Valjean, a former prisoner who had broken his parole and is hiding from the law.
