Pinocchio is a puppet created by Geppetto in the city of Krat, inspired by the classic tale but with a unique backstory. Geppetto, grieving the loss of his son Carlo, uses the P-Organ and Carlo's Ergo to create a puppet in his son's likeness, hoping to revive him. This puppet, initially named the Nameless Puppet, is later given the name Pinocchio and is made the only puppet unbound to the Grand Covenant to freely collect Ergo. The game explores the themes of artificial intelligence, consciousness, and the nature of humanity through Pinocchio's journey and his connection to Geppetto and the city of Krat. Pinocchio is crafted in a secret workshop, given an appearance identical to Carlo, and designed to be more efficient in Ergo collection. Pinocchio is the only puppet unbound to the Grand Covenant, allowing him to gather Ergo without restriction. Geppetto also instigates the Puppet Frenzy, a chaotic event where puppets turn violent, to further accelerate Ergo collection. The events follow Pinocchio's journey through Krat, a city ravaged by the Puppet Frenzy and a mysterious Petrification Disease, as he seeks to find Geppetto and uncover the truth behind the chaos. While drawing inspiration from the classic Pinocchio story, Lies of P offers a unique narrative that delves into themes of artificial intelligence, the nature of humanity, and the consequences of unchecked technological advancement.
