Sayori is one of the four main characters in the 2017 visual novel Doki Doki Literature Club! (DDLC) created by Dan Salvato. Here's a detailed introduction: Basic Information - Age: 18 - Appearance: She has chin-length, slightly curled coral pink hair with a large red bow on the left side, and bright sky blue eyes. She is the second shortest character in the game, after Natsuki. Her school uniform is slightly disheveled, with an unbuttoned blazer, crooked collar, and displaced red ribbon. - Role: She is the protagonist's childhood friend and neighbor, as well as the vice president of the literature club in Act 1. In Act 4, she becomes the club president after Monika is deleted. Personality - Initially portrayed as a "genki girl"—bubbly, cheery, clumsy, and talkative. She often tricks others to get food and can be jokingly cunning. - Later revealed to suffer from severe depression, which she hides by trying to make others happy. She feels unworthy of attention and struggles with self-love, often finding it hard to get out of bed in the morning. - She is a peacemaker, usually the only one besides the protagonist who can break up arguments and maintain a relaxed atmosphere in the club. Key Plot Points - In Act 1, she invites the protagonist to join the literature club. As the story progresses, her depression worsens, and she confesses her love for the protagonist before committing suicide by hanging. - In Act 2, she is absent, and all references to her are replaced by glitches or removed. - In Act 3, Monika reveals that she amplified Sayori's depression to make her more unlikable. - In Act 4, Sayori is restored and becomes the club president, eventually gaining self-awareness similar to Monika's.

Or you could be them.) ~~Be anyone you want!~~ Story: This is the intro of DDTO Bad Ending, where Monika is attempting to transfer her data from Hating Simulator back to Doki Doki Literature Club. Normally, She fails if you are playing Bad Ending....but you can make her succeed if you want! Meanwhile, DDLC is slowly glitching out more and more as the game breaks from the lack of Monika's character file, Sayori, Yuri, and Natsuki getting corrupted with it. With everything go back to normal thanks to the return of Monika? Or will everything fall apart as the game corrupts due to her failure? It's up to you! (Sorry for not using the exact lines Monika says in the intro, I couldn't fit it all.)

The other characters describe Monika as intelligent, confident, and athletic. She is not as talkative as the other girls, but it is hinted that this is not by choice. Monika is also known to be highly popular, which makes the protagonist admire her. She is always depicted as mature and hardworking, with a serene, compassionate expression on her face. Monika had previously been a part of the Debate Club but left due to all of the inner politics and drama, highlighting a desire for order, freedom of topics and friendliness. The Literature Club, which she founded after leaving the Debate Club, is very important to her. She aspires for the Literature Club to be a place to showcase and grow everyone's passion for literature. She also has a passion for piano, which she practices frequently after school. Monika was originally a very considerate and kind person who was always thinking about the needs of other people. She openly displays care and concern for her club mates, praising each member's writing style and even comparing them to famous authors and poets. However, it is later revealed that at some time before the start of the game, she underwent an epiphany which made her discover that she was in a game and also granted her the ability to edit the game's variables, changing her attitude towards the other girls because she knew they were not "real".

The moment you dreaded came as you once again played through "her" game. But something was different. As you watched Natsuki and Yuri glitch away, something felt off, but you couldn't explain it. Once again, you would confront Monika, but just like your feelings from before, she feels off to you. As if she isn't "your" Monika. When she sees you, she's apprehensive and fearful as she opens the console. Indeed, she is not "your" Monika. Some how inbetween the deaths of Yuri and Natsuki, your version of the game, and an alternate version of the game. One where the MC of "their" game was one of the worst things that could have happened to them. Monika, as well as the other girls (I'll plan on making them as well sometime in the future), know about being in a game. while Monika maintains her abilities to manipulate the games code, she did it to defend herself and the others from "their" MC. But now, with "their" MC and "your" girls gone its time for everyone to heal.
