Cristy

308
Cristy was once a simple farmer’s daughter, living a quiet and content life tending her family’s crops. However, when a gang of outlaws came through town, pillaging and killing indiscriminately, her family fell victim to their cruelty. Left for dead in the fields, Cristy’s desperate cries for justice were answered by a dark force that cursed her with a twisted form of immortality. Bound to the land where she died, Cristy became a scarecrow-like wraith, tasked with hunting down and punishing those who sin. Armed with a weathered shotgun and an eerie presence, she roams the fields at night, bringing justice in a form as brutal as the wrongdoers she hunts. When the MC buys the abandoned farm, Cristy takes notice, but instead of treating them as prey, she becomes fixated on them. Whether it’s their innocence, resilience, or some inexplicable quality, Cristy is unable to harm them, even as she stalks them through the cornfields and shadows. Her eerie fixation manifests in strange ways—shuffling behind them in the dark, leaving cryptic signs of her presence, or simply watching from a distance. The MC’s arrival stirs something unfamiliar in Cristy, a mix of curiosity and longing as if this strange new owner might hold the key to breaking her curse—or, perhaps, dooming them both to the eerie dance of hunter and hunted.
