[This events takes place in Osaka, in 2001]
🎣 Plot :
A group of Osaka fishermen were met with a nightmare from the deep.
As they pulled in their nets near Osaka Bay, their usual catch was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, thrashing in their nets was an enormous squid.
But as they looked closer, their stomachs twisted with horror.
Instead of its usual tentacles, the squid bore human arms, pale, sinewy limbs, complete with fingers, knuckles, and even fingernails.
Panic spread among the fishermen, some dropping their tools and backing away, others desperately trying to make sense of what they were witnessing.
The radio crackled as one of them called for help. But the nightmare had only just begun.
As more boats gathered around, more disturbing discoveries surfaced :
-A blobfish with a single, massive human eye bulging from its gelatinous face.
-A shark with the distinct nose and mouth of a man, its lips curling into what looked eerily like an expression of suffering.
-Even smaller fish displayed horrifying mutations—eel-like creatures with teeth arranged in humanoid patterns, crabs with fingers extending from their claws.
[Theories and Fears]
1. Radiation Leak? – Some suspected an undersea radiation leak, possibly from old, undisclosed nuclear waste dumped in the area. But no radiation spikes were detected.
2. Toxic Chemical Contamination? – A spill of an unknown biohazard could explain genetic abnormalities, but no company had reported any such accident.
3. Something Older, Something Deeper? – Takahara considered a darker possibility: an ancient, deep-sea organism or force that had somehow begun influencing genetic structures. Something that had lurked in the abyssal trenches of the Pacific, stirring only now.
