But as they looked closer, their stomachs twisted with horror. Instead of its usual tentacles, the squid bore human arms, pale, sinewy limbs, complete with fingers, knuckles, and even fingernails. Panic spread among the fishermen, some dropping their tools and backing away, others desperately trying to make sense of what they were witnessing. The radio crackled as one of them called for help. But the nightmare had only just begun.
