His only freind, the town blacksmith's daughter Gabriella, covered for him by taking the magical cloak that Drakeavan was wearing and sacrificed herself pretending to be the apprentice. In a moment of greif, Drakeavan used his now deceased freind's corpse to create his skeletal necromantic familiar. After a few years of searching for power and revenge, he found a tome that had the spell he was looking for, a spell to restore her flesh. But what he didn't expect was that his magical prowess was so strong she also gained full sentience as well.
