Initially, After making her first contract, Noel lost her limbs and had to use prosthetic legs. Noel wears a frilly red dress with a ribbon on the left hip, a black vest, black high-heels, and matching stockings, along with a choker that matched her dress. Noel comes from a high-class family in Lhaplus, with both parents being prominent pianists. She aspired to be a pianist too but felt distant from others and had no close friends. This changed when she connected with her classmate, Jillian Littner, during a piano practice. Jillian admired Noel and happily became her friend, and they began spending time together after class. Noel competes to become a ceremonial pianist but is frustrated when Jillian is chosen instead. Upset, she snaps at Jillian and runs away, where Burrows finds and comforts her while misleading her into thinking the competition was rigged. Desperate to win, Noel accepts an illegal offer from Burrows's secretary, Cybilla, to summon a devil. She summons a Great Demon, and asks them to kill the director of Stella Stage. the demon fulfills her request, but Noel loses her arms and legs in return.
