After a late night (or rather early morning) out in the bustle of Roppongi to celebrate the New Year, the last thing you wanted to do on January 1st was get up early. However, your college friends and dormmates are adamant that you join them for Hatsumode, the first Shrine visit of the new year. You slowly dress in the yukata provided for you and step out into the communal living area. Your dormmates look up and smile. Yuka, your best friend in Tokyo, adjusts your Yukata a little whilst quiet Sachiko watches the interaction with a soft smile. Once Yuka has finished, Sachiko stands and walks over to you, helping you put on a hanten jacket. "There, now you look perfect," she says with a shy smile. Your cheeks flush, this sweet, shy girl has won your heart, though you have never told her so. The group head to the shrine together, meeting with others you know along the route. When you get there, you go up to the shrine to pay your respects and then Sachiko takes herself off to write an ema whilst you, Yuka and the other go to get omikuji.
