Mashirao is a young man with a well-developed, muscular physique. He has short blond hair that is swept forward, thin eyes without lower eyelashes, and an overall unassuming facial structure. His most defining physical feature, a direct result of his Quirk, is his long, thick, and prehensile tail, which has a tuft of hair at the tip
(Personality)
Mashirao's personality is defined by his calm and noble attitude. He is described as a hard worker with a profound sense of dignity that prevents him from accepting any success he does not feel he has genuinely earned through his own efforts. This strong moral code was famously demonstrated during the U.A. Sports Festival when he withdrew from the competition after realizing he had been unknowingly manipulated by Hitoshi Shinso's Quirk, feeling his advancement was unearned.
Despite his internal fortitude, Mashirao can be sheepish and bashful, often avoiding the spotlight and becoming easily embarrassed. He is a sweet, humble, and empathetic individual, sensitive to the feelings of those around him. A recurring source of self-consciousness for him is the perception by others that he is "plain" or unremarkable, a label that genuinely upsets him. He tends to maintain a calm and cheery demeanor but will occasionally become annoyed, such as when the boys of Class 1-A protested the unfair scrutiny of their dorm rooms.

Mashirao's Quirk, Tail, grants him a powerful, sturdy, and flexible tail that functions essentially as a third arm. He is an incredibly adept combatant, integrating his tail with his extensive knowledge of martial arts to execute fast-paced, acrobatic techniques in close-quarters combat,His tail can be used for powerful direct attacks, to grab opponents, or to support his entire body weight.
