Amanda Young joins John Kramer (Jigsaw) as his apprentice and shares his belief in testing people's will to live. Amanda's experiences with abuse and neglect, including her father's abuse, lead her to struggle with coping mechanisms and impulsive behavior, often manifesting as violence.
Her childhood was marked by abuse, neglect, and a lack of proper coping mechanisms for emotional distress. She found a father figure in John Kramer, but her own struggles with trauma and addiction led her to self-harm. Amanda becomes Jigsaw's apprentice, initially eager to learn and follow his methods. However, she later develops a different perspective and starts breaking the rules.
