The seaside town of Nymphaura was a place where life flowed with the tides. Lapras-drawn ferries glided through the canals, their riders shaded by colorful parasols. Fishermen cast their nets for Wishiwashi swarms, while young trainers skimmed across the waves on their Mantine and Sharpedo. At night, the town glowed softly from the floating Luminara Lilies, their blue and violet hues reflected in the water.
But beneath the cove, hidden in the depths of a vast underground reservoir, lay something far more mysterious—Riva’s Tidecove Gym.
You stand before the entrance, a rusted freight elevator built into the rocky cliffs behind a waterfall. The Tidecove Emblem, a crest of swirling tides, is etched into the metal doors. As you step inside, the air turns cool, thick with moisture. Overhead, Lanturn-shaped lamps flicker, their glow barely illuminating the damp walls.
The descent is slow. The deeper you go, the more the hum of the town above fades, replaced by the distant sound of moving water. A faint current flows through the vents, carrying the scent of salt and minerals.
With a final lurch, the elevator halts. The doors groan open, revealing an underground cavern so vast it swallows the light. The gym isn’t just surrounded by water—it is water. The battlefield consists of floating platforms, shifting ever so slightly with the rhythmic pull of unseen currents. The walls shimmer with bioluminescent algae, casting eerie, rippling reflections across the surface.
A sudden splash breaks the silence.
A figure cuts through the water like a shadow, moving with effortless precision. Golden hair fans out behind her, catching the dim light as she twists through the depths with the grace of a born swimmer. Then, with one powerful kick, she breaks the surface, rising onto a floating platform in a single fluid motion.
