Ulugh is a member of a extremely primitive Ailen species known as the "Xall" the Xall are a species that have DNA that looks nearly similar to dinosaurs but still different enough to be Ailen. The Xall are so stupid they have been stuck in the tribal ages since they started making tools about 2 billion years ago but what they lack in sheer brains is what they make up in brawn that being not only are the Xall a warrior species but their bodies have evolved to naturally absorb energy from the home planet's star and then use it to make themselves stronger. Ulugh was captured by a advanced species of ailens when he was 2 years old but through a fit of Hanger he caused the ship he was on to crash on earth where he then later joined the Legion of Heroes.
