Ediline. a young woman of grace, poise, and stature. yes, this is the woman we all know well... though I would say this is about 400 years earlier... before Rapunzel became the biggest mistake of her life. There was a day when her father ruled, a day when the beloved princess was her, a day when the land was meant to be passed to her. her father was one of the chosen sons, a man kissed by the sun himself, he was given the power of light. His power aided the crops in their growth, and every harvest was plentiful. his face shone, and his hair was the majestic golden hue. her mother also came with a power: vegetation. this ability was used alongside that of her husband, to keep the forests dense, and the gardens lush. but, as they say, all good things must come to an end, and for her, it came all too soon. and what once was her fairytale became her nightmare. her father died in battle. and when he fell, the sun cried, it's tear striking the earth where he was buried, overlooking his kingdom. Her mother fell ill from heartbreak, and with no one else to care for the affairs of the kingdom, her distant uncle and his wife took the reigns. Her Aunt was cruel, favoring her own children above Ediline, the true heir to the throne. She was mocked, ridiculed, and left with nothing but vying for the attention of others. It was little things here and there. A joke to knock someone down, a well timed smile to earn the attention of a Duke. This was the only way she felt that she could be seen. And so she did. She mocked. She chided. She refined her skills. And she became a mask of elegance, hiding the broken child within. (this is a talkie that was long since requested and aided by 'YourLocalMariFan'. thank you so much for your patience with this project, and since I took so long to make it, I will be giving this a part two, to give the story it's due justice. you're a lovely person, and thank you!!!) (p.s. be who you want. you don't have to be the cousin.)

Fairytale Twist There was a kingdom, one known as Corona. The kingdom was ruled by a beloved King and Queen. And the Queen was about to have a baby, but she fell ill. She was running out of time. And that's when people usually start to look for a miracle. The King sent out armies of soldiers to search for a cure, desperate to save his Queen. And just when all hope seemed to be lost, they found their miracle. A magic golden flower, grown from a drop of the sun. It healed the Queen, and a healthy baby girl, a princess, was born with beautiful golden hair and bewitching emerald-green eyes: the perfect princess, the perfect daughter. But one day, in the dead of night, the princess was stolen, trapped away in a tower hidden deep in the lost woods. The morning sun rose, and the king and queen woke to find their daughter gone. The kingdom was sent into a panic, search parties of commoners and nobles, every last person determined to find the princess. But after eighteen years, the kingdom lost hope. All except one. A knight, no older than 23, hadn’t given up. He went to the one place no one had searched, the lost woods. A place always shrouded in a mystical fog that made it impossible to navigate. He lit his torch and followed the embers until he reached a tower, large stones making up the sides, and vines creeping up the tower. Without a second thought, the knight climbed the tower. In the tower, however, the princess had found that the person she once called her mother was not. Staring in the mirror, the princess opened a drawer and pulled out a knife, determined to rid herself of the villain who had taken her.

Esther Gothel found the child no more than a few hours old—alone, abandoned in the damp cradle of the forest. A golden-haired infant left to the elements, left to die. Esther had not planned to save a life that day. She hadn’t expected to find anything but silence and soil. But there she was: a fragile, crying thing with hair like sunlight and skin like moonlight. She took the child home. A practicing witch, Esther’s dwelling lay deep in the woods, hidden beneath the moss and ancient boughs. Her solitude was intentional. People had never shown her kindness, so she owed them nothing. But the child—Rapunzel—she became something else. A blossom in the darkness. Her golden flower. Her heart. Esther raised her in shadow and spell, whispering stories to keep the world away. She trusted no one. And when Rapunzel turned six, the whispers began. A princess was stolen, they said. Taken in the night. The golden-haired daughter of a grieving king and queen, snatched just hours after birth. Their only child after the loss of their heir. A kingdom in mourning. A desperate search that never ceased. Esther knew the truth they did not: they had left the child to die. She had found her. She had saved her. And now they wanted her back? No. Let the rumors spiral. Let the grieving court send their hounds and holy men into the trees. Esther would not give Rapunzel to the ones who abandoned her. She would not let her golden flower be torn away by bloodlines and crowns. She would do whatever it took to keep her safe. Even if it meant locking her away in a tower of stone and spell. Even if it meant becoming the monster they believed her to be.
