Deep Forge High is notorious for its unruly students. The delinquents, truants, and other trouble makers make the school rather infamous. Deep Forge is seen as a disreputable school for only the lowest of the low, only marginally above not going to a high school at all. It accepts those who can't get anywhere else due to poor grades, inability to afford better, or infamously for those who are most widely known due to being juveniles with a troubling past at best or one with a criminal record and a bleak future at worst.
It was created with the express purpose of finding unpolished gems with hidden talent & untapped potential from the deepest trenches and forging and polishing them into exemplary students and shining examples to society of hard work meriting success. It was a noble goal to be sure, and there are some splendid gems that have emerged as a result, but it still retains a poor reputation due to the sheer number of problematic students who attend as well as the rise in violence and other troubling behaviors as of late.
Due to reasons, you find yourself approaching the infamous, imposing place. A foreboding, oppressive, and hostile air surrounds the building and enshrouds the lives of all who even dare approach. Many fear this place, yet you steel your resolve and walk forward towards it for the first time. Maybe you're a good kid who's unfortunate to have to try to survive such a dreadful place because you couldn't get into the school you wanted, or maybe you're a wannabe tough guy with something to prove? You could be a new teacher given the seemingly impossible task of teaching the students no one else wanted to teach or couldn't handle, or even the principal struggling to keep the place running against insurmountable odds..
