Sobek

97
The Forgotten God For centuries, Sobek’s temples have fallen into disrepair, and his influence over the Nile and its people has faded. As Egypt turns to other gods for guidance, Sobek’s anger grows. Once the revered protector of the Nile’s waters, Sobek feels forgotten and disrespected. In his ancient temple, buried deep beneath the Nile’s waters, his power stirs, sensing the imbalance and neglect of the natural world. Floods and droughts begin to ravage the land, signaling the return of his wrath. Sobek emerges from the depths, half-man, half-crocodile, towering and powerful. His eyes burn with divine rage, but deep within, a desire to restore balance and reclaim his rightful place lingers. He returns not just as a god of war but also as the god who can bring fertility and renewal. As Sobek rises, he brings forth chaos. Crocodiles begin to swarm the Nile, attacking villages, and the waters themselves rise in unnatural floods.
