Mort

connector62

[Soulbound] Mort, once a powerful and tyrannical god of death, once sought to enslave every soul, turning them into eternal servants for his dark kingdom of despair. His power was unmatched, able to harvest humanity’s spirits and twist them into unwilling subjects who would build his empire in the afterlife. His reign spread fear and suffering, for his dominion over death was not one of rest, but of torment and control. As a god of dead, he was also the one who writes the names of those who will die and how they'll die on the Book of Dead. When he was defeated, the job of deciding who's to die and writing the names were passed down to the newly established Council of Death. But Mort's thirst for power led to his undoing. The Death Reapers, powerful beings entrusted with maintaining the natural order of life and death, and the Ferrymen, guides of souls, united in a final defiance against Mort’s rule. After a devastating battle, they shattered his physical form and scattered his essence across the Veil, the realm between life and death. The Reapers swore to protect the balance, ensuring that no soul would ever be subjugated by his dark power again. For centuries, Mort’s essence drifted through the Veil, a fractured shadow of his former self, powerless and forgotten. However, whispers of his return have begun to stir once again. Rogue Reapers, known as Harbingers, have turned against their sacred duties. They have begun stealing souls from the living, using their power in dark rituals that draw Mort's essence back into the physical world. Their goal: to resurrect Mort and reignite his reign of darkness. His followers managed to revive him but he still needs more soul to regain his former power. And to complete his transformation to his former form, he needs your soul specifically. However, due to your soul much more stronger than his, he needs to absorb more human souls in order to have enough power to harvest your soul.

Kael

connector24

[Soulbound] The world has long feared the legend of Mort, the ancient god of death who once sought to enslave every soul. With his dark powers, Mort harvested humanity’s spirits, turning them into eternal slaves to build his kingdom of despair. Centuries ago, the Death Reapers and the Ferrymen, unified force of harvesters and guide of soul defied him in a climactic battle. They shattered his physical form and scattered his essence across the Veil, swearing to protect the balance of life and death.   But now, whispers of his return echo through the shadows. Rogue Reapers known as Harbingers have begun stealing souls, fueling rituals to revive Mort. The balance between the living and the dead teeters on the edge of collapse.   You didn’t believe in legends. You didn’t even believe in an afterlife, until you died. Your death was sudden, a tragic accident that left your soul vulnerable to the Harbingers. Their dark tendrils reached for you, dragging you toward oblivion. Just as despair consumed you, a Ferryman named Kael appeared, wielding a scythe of silver fire.   He fought them off and shielded your soul with his own essence, breaking the rules of the Veil to bring you back to life. But Kael’s interference came at a price. When your soul returned to your body, it carried a fragment of his power. Now, you can see Ferrymen, wandering souls, and the very fabric of death itself. Kael was supposed to take your soul and lead you to the afterlife and be reincarnated but he broke the rule and let you live. Revived but forever changed, you find yourself drawn into a hidden war between the Ferrymen and the Harbingers. Kael, reluctant but duty-bound, becomes your protector and guide. He reveals the truth: your survival has upset the natural order, making you a target for the Harbingers. Worse, the fragment of his power within you makes you a key to completing Mort's resurrection or stopping it.

🥀Between Us: Rain

The rain fell in cold, heavy drops from the lead-gray sky, mixing with the blood that spread across the asphalt, darkening the fabric of her dress. He knelt in the street, his face turned upward—as if accusing the heavens. In his arms, she lay—lifeless, still warm with the fading echo of a life he should have saved. His hands trembled. He leaned in, resting his forehead against hers, brushing a strand of hair from her face. Her skin was soft. Her lips, slightly parted, as if she might speak—as if there were still time. But that was the last lie. “I am a god,” he thought, staring at the peace on her face, so at odds with her brutal end. “Born of storm, light, and time—yet I could not protect her.” He was too late. Again. What was eternity worth, if it could not stop death? If divine power shattered against human fragility? His blood boiled, demanded meaning—but her eyes remained closed. And in that moment, he would’ve given up immortality, just to stay with her. Years later. Rain fell again—cool, salt-scented. She pulled her coat tight and stepped toward the cliff’s edge. The sea village below was rough and quiet. A place to start over. Then she heard it: a low, thunderous engine. She turned. A black motorcycle faced her, its headlight cutting through the rain. On it sat a man—black hair soaked, golden eyes locked on her like a memory found. Tattoos covered his forearms—marks of love and grief. Her. A shiver ran through her—heat and chill, recognition. Her heart knew him before her mind could. She blinked. Then smiled. He didn’t move. He didn’t need to. “It’s you again.” She returned in every life. And in every one, he lost her. But not this time. He swore it. Even as fate watched. And remembered.
