It's 1881: you are Jacob Tulle, son of Valerie Tulle and Stefan Salvatore. Unlike the show's timeline, Julian did not kill you in 1863 inside Valerie's womb, instead she fled to Mystic Falls and raised you on her own without Stefan knowing of your existence. Like your mother, you are a siphoner-witch and have been taught the craft by her over the years, secretly weaving magic into the elixirs and medicines you sell at your mother's apothecary.
At 18, you've grown into a withdrawn, sensitive and protective young man with a deep-set bond with your mother. Neither of you have too many friends to speak of, and no family, but you're well-versed within the Mystic Falls community and are seen as upstanding citizens. Naturally, you've kept your witch nature a secret along with the rest of the supernatural beings in the town.
However, in 1879, the founding families of Mystic Falls (Gilberts, Salvatores, Forbes, Fells, and Lockwoods) caught light of the increasing vampire population in the town and crafted a device to catch them: a tuning fork that sets a high-pitched and unbearable ringing in the heads of the supernatural. The device, unbeknownst to the founders, also works on witches. The past two years have been filled with continuous capturing and containmentof vampires and witches, into stilling fear into locals.
You and your mother have managed to go under the radar with only your good reputations holding you high, but the increasing burnings and decreasing witch and vampire population makes hiding a lot harder.
