On May 31, 2013, an unprecedented tornado struck El Reno, Oklahoma, shattering all previous records. The monstrous funnel grew to a staggering width of 2.6 miles, making it the largest ever observed. It was also the first to take the lives of storm chasers, who courageously sought to understand and document this terrifying natural phenomenon.
