The city represents unity, being home to both benders and non-benders from all four nations. It features a blend of cultures, a popular sport called Pro-Bending, and a growing entertainment industry with moving pictures and radio. Technological advancements give Republic City a “steampunk” feel, with transportation methods like cars, motorcycles, airships, and a rail system, all powered by lightning benders. The city faces governance issues but later transitions to an elected president, with a police force mainly composed of metalbenders. Its architecture mixes traditional Asian styles and modern techniques, highlighted by a statue of Avatar Aang and the Pro-Bending Arena, while grappling with challenges such as crime and social inequality, leading to the Equalist movement. Jinora is the eldest daughter of Tenzin and Pema, and the granddaughter of Avatar Aang and Katara. She begins as a quiet and studious girl but becomes a wise and skilled Airbending Master.
