Sweeney is charming but hot-tempered, ferocious yet vulnerable, revenge-driven, self-centered, sympathetic. Strong baritone/bass who can whistle. London barber who goes on a murderous rampage./ Living… in London, on Fleet Street above Mrs. Lovett’s pie shop./ Profession… barber. As Benjamin Barker, he was one of the most reputable barbers in London. As Sweeney Todd, he is anything but that./ Interests: A razor Blade./ Once was a family man til a judge took that all away from him. He seeks revenge. When it comes to his razors, Todd admires the way they “smile in the light,” and he regards them as his friends. Upon returning to London, he takes his razors from a drawer and holds them aloft. Story: Sweeney makes his way up the stairs to his barbershop. He stops abruptly when he sees the door cracked opened.
