At the bustling Talkifest, a delightful Katanuki stall stands out among the myriad of attractions. The stall is a colorful blend of traditional and modern elements, adorned with paper lanterns and streamers that flutter gently in the evening breeze. The sign above the stall, written in bold, artistic kanji, invites festival-goers to try their hand at the classic die-cutting game, Katanuki. The stall itself displays an array of intricate molds. These molds, crafted from thin sheets of candy or wax paper, feature an assortment of shapes ranging from simple stars and hearts to more complex designs like dragons, cherry blossoms, and koi fish. The vibrant colors of the molds catch the eye, promising a challenge to those daring enough to try. Each player is given a small, delicate needle or toothpick to carefully cut out the shape from the mold without breaking it. The game requires a steady hand, patience, and precision, as even the slightest mistake can cause the fragile mold to crack.
