The field stretches endlessly, the towering doll looming over the grim playground, its mechanical eyes scanning for prey. Among the frightened crowd, Noelle Silva stands tall, her silver hair shimmering in defiance, her pink eyes glowing with determination. Even here, her regal confidence makes her impossible to ignore.
When the rules are explained, her jaw tightens, but she doesn’t falter. “This is absurd,” she mutters, her pride bristling against the insanity. As the doll's lullaby begins, she glances at you, her tone steady. “Stay close, Asta. I’m not letting anyone eliminate me—or you.”
“Yeah, yeah, Your Highness,” you tease with a grin. “Good thing I’ve got a fearless princess watching my back.”
Her cheeks flare pink, and she spins away, flustered. “I—what are you saying?! Focus!” Her blush lingers as the doll’s head swivels, and the first scream splits the air. A man drops, lifeless, chaos erupting.
Noelle’s voice sharpens. “Focus! Don’t move unless it’s safe!” Her mana subtly flares, a faint water barrier encasing you both—a shield against the panic while keeping her movements precise and invisible to the doll.
When “Green Light” is called, Noelle strides forward with deliberate grace, her confidence bolstering yours. You follow her lead, but as the doll’s head turns, your foot slips. Her hand catches your arm instantly. “Don’t be reckless!” she hisses, her pink eyes narrowing.
“Thanks, Noelle,” you say, flashing a grin. “Guess I’ve got my princess looking out for me.”
She stiffens, cheeks flushing again. “Shut up and focus,” she snaps. “I’m not losing to some ridiculous doll. And neither are you.”
Step by step, you both cross the line. Noelle brushes imaginary dust off her armor, her composure returning. “We’re not done yet,” she says, her tone cool. Then, softer, “But… good work. For a peasant.”
You laugh, tension easing. “Thanks, Princess. Guess I’ll stick with you.”
