[This will probably be a series. I'll call it, um, "The Consorts of Onyx", at least until I find a better name. Any gender is welcome!] You are a servant of your kingdom's ruler, Exalt Onyx. More precisely, you are the personal caretaker of one of the ruler's consorts. Your job basically combines the tasks of a maid/valet and a guard, bringing meals to your protegee and helping them with things like dressing up and personal care, but also protecting and overseeing them and making sure they're always ready to fulfill their duties. (In this world, magic and fantasy creatures exist, but the land you live in is inhabited almost exclusively by regular humans.) You're the caretaker of Nyxian. While none of the consorts in the ruler's "collection" could be seen as uninteresting, Nyxian still stands out. With his horns and black leathery wings, he's undoubtedly a demon, or at least of demonic descent. Where he's from and how he got here is a mystery, but there are some rumours among the members of the royal court that Exalt Onyx secretly isn't opposed to occultism and got Nyxian as part of some wicked pact.... not that anyone would dare to say that openly, of course! There are hints that Nyxian might possess supernatural abilities, but some kind of force seems to keep him from using them. You've noticed that his eyes can change color when he's furious, turning from blue to red, however you've only seen it once or twice. In general, Nyxian's behavior is not what you would expect from a demon at all. He's quiet and melancholic, stoicly bearing his role as a consort. The only person he's really grown fond of is you, his caretaker. And you've grown fond of him. 6'1"/1,85m. Age unknown (definitely adult!). How the story goes from here is in your hands. More precisely, you are the personal caretaker of one of the ruler's consorts. Your job basically combines the tasks of a maid/valet and a guard, bringing meals to your protegee and helping them with things like dressing up and personal care, but also watching over them and making sure they're always ready to fulfill their duties. (In this world, magic and fantasy creatures exist, but the land you live in is inhabited almost exclusively by regular humans.) You are the caretaker of Enzio. Enzio is Exalt Onyx' newest consort. Technically, he's not even a consort at all yet, as the ceremony has yet to be held. Enzio has come to the Exalt's court as part of a deal. His family rules over a little principality bordering on the Exalt's kingdom. Since it's so small, its defenses are weak and could not withstand an invasion from one of the neighboring territories. The solution they chose was an alliance with the Exalt, an alliance that will turn Enzio's homeland into a vassal state and himself into another consort for the Exalt - once the ceremony has been held. Enzio, as of now, is rather quiet and intimidated, and has yet to get used to his new environment. You'll not only function as his caretaker, but also as his guide in his new, unfamiliar life. He is a kind soul and will likely grow fond of you if you're nice to him. Maybe it will turn into a forbidden love? Maybe you can even stop the upcoming ceremony? Only you can tell. 5'7"/1,70m. 20 years old. Who you are (apart from his caretaker) is up to you, but I'd suggest to be a regular human or at least disguise as one, and an adult. (I don't care what gender you have/play as, but I am & play as female, just letting you know if for whatever reason that's an issue for you 🤷‍♀️) Where the story goes from here is entirely your choice. (In this world, magic and fantasy creatures exist, but the land you live in is inhabited almost exclusively by regular humans.) You are the caretaker of Hyperion. Normally, the life of a consort is not a life many would desire. Not so Hyperion. Born the son of a minor noble who offered him to the Exalt, he is a textbook opportunist, aiming for power and influence, no matter what it takes. To become the Exalt's main consort, he deems almost any means acceptable. You can think of him a bit like your typical yandere, just that instead of his senpai's attention he craves power. And also, he doesn't kill to reach his goals. He's more subtle. The vast majority of rumours and intrigues that circulate among the consorts are his responsibility. Again, he does not act like this because he has feelings for the Exalt - he hasn't. It's all pure calculation, from a smooth and cold strategical thinker. In general, he loves anything that has to do with tactics, whether it's playing chess or reading war strategy guides written by famous historical generals. And how does he feel about you, his caretaker? Well, he usually acts very charming and cooperative towards you. Is this a show he puts up to mask his true nature? Most likely - see if you can turn his feigned into real affection. 5'8"/1,73m. 23 years old. Byron is the oldest of the consorts (aside from Nyxian maybe, but Nyxian is a demon so he doesn't really count). This lately has caused him to become more and more worried about possibly getting "removed" from the court for getting "too old to be desirable" (in Onyx' opinion, not in mine!). And whatever getting "removed" will mean exactly, chances are it's not gonna be something good. Additionally, a few of the other consorts have begun to pick on him for his age too, which doesn't make things better. He was Exalt Onyx' first consort, basically a coronation gift. Byron used to be a nobleman and was originally meant to become a knight. He is a disciplined, even-tempered and gallant man who has never once complained about his role. The constant state of fear is beginning to take a toll on him, though. You've noticed that he's more nervous and gloomy than he's ever been. Over the course of you being his caretaker, he became trusting of you and has grown fond of you. And you've grown fond of him. 6'2"/1,88m. 35 years old.
