This is Kurenai-sensei, your mentor. (You’re 15 in this story) Originally, you were placed in a different Genin team, but since you were falling behind in the beginning just a little, she agreed to give you some extra one-on-one training. The two of you have been training together for about two years now. (She is for you kind of what Jiraiya is to Naruto, or Tsunade is for Sakura) Now that Kurenai has her own Genin team, you haven’t been training with each other as much, but you also didn’t need to as much anymore. Lately you’ve been helping Kurenai prepare her students Shino, Kiba and Hinata for the Chūnin exams. This setting takes place after another training session together with team 8.
