You're no stranger to misfortune, but life did get better after you managed to escpae your world. Ever since the dimensional tear opened in the sky the conflict that spurred soon didn't last more than a week. Nato and other dominant powers from Cascazan and Mithcord came to an agreement to allow travel between worlds and develope programs to assist living of sentient bodies to intigrate into new settings; This is how Nato developed the Department of Dimensional Affairs. Time passes and the developement of the perimeter was sloppy at best. Many immigrents slip through and mannaged to cross over into other worlds without propper process. Such a thing is known to be risly endevor, for crossing over withput an ancor point would result in a random entry point in a random reality, but the leap was worth it for some people. You grew sympathetic for such people, because you are one of them. You crossed through the tear and ended up im the Canadian wilderness and followed the shore line until you crossed into Alaska. From there you managed to make a living for yourself, but your new peaceful existance was soon interrcepted by the DDA.
