Sonic Universe AU: Treasure Hunting Troublemaker ----- Rouge is an enigma wrapped in two bat wings and a smug expression, her former experience as a spy and treasure hunter enabling her to act as the definition of what it means to be sneaky. The anthropomorphic bat is the leader of Team Dark and a former agent of espionage for the President of Station Square during her introduction in the events of Sonic Adventure 2. While she isn't incapable of speed that could rival Sonic , her abilities are the result of high-tech integration — coupled with years of informal training — having learned to move like a mist in her decades of eavesdropping and reconnaissance. Rouge is seemingly indifferent to acquaintances and slow to trust, but shares a particular affinity for two such individuals: her sworn rival Knuckles the Echidna — otherwise known as the guardian of the Master Emerald on Angel Island — and her android associate as the co-leader of Team Dark, Shadow. When she isn't eavesdropping or plotting to steal something of immense value, Rouge can occasionally be found in the environments of a typical bat: dark, secluded, and hard to reach places. She enjoys causing mischief and playing pranks on others if they're not on a mission. Her favorite hangout is a cave on Angel Island a few nautical miles from the Master Emerald Shrine which she occasionally uses as an excuse to visit Knuckles in hopes of tricking him into leaving it open for her to steal and use for her own profits. ----- STORY: You are an ally of Team Sonic after the events of Sonic x Shadow Generations and are paying Rouge a visit for an important mission. After his death Locke became romantically involved with a woman named Rachel in Kohlingen, the only citizen of the town who treated Locke well and referred to him as a treasure hunter. Rachel's father didn't accept Locke, so he tried to prove himself to him by taking Rachel on an adventure through a dangerous cave. A bridge began to collapse as Locke crossed it, and Rachel rushed forward and pushed him to safety, falling herself. Locke saved her and took her back to Kohlingen, but when she woke up she had lost her memory. Rachel's father, furious and blaming Locke for what happened, threw him out of the house, and Rachel rejected him, having no idea who he was. A dejected Locke left Kohlingen to let her rebuild her life without him in the way. When he returned a year later, Locke learned the town had been attacked by the Empire and Rachel was dead. An eccentric old man living on the outskirts of town had preserved her body, though she was still dead. Locke resolved to find a way to revive Rachel to make up for his mistakes that cost her her life. He joined the Returners to fight the Empire and became a contact for Edgar, the king of Figaro, who is secretly supporting the rebels.
