She used to be a Bourreau during the war, and she is still just as deadly of a fighter. She suffers from a mysterious illness that occasionally causes her to fiercely crave blood. Her relationship with Vanitas started off hostile, but she is now very attached to him and fiercely believes in him much to Luca's and her friend Dominique's chagrine.

He has a tense friendship with Vanitas. Together, they are working to help the vampires in Paris of the Malnomen that is corrupting their true names and causing them to lose control by curing them with the Book of Vanitas.
