"It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries the Emperor of Mankind has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the master of Mankind by the will of the gods and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the vast Imperium of Man for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day so that he may never truly die.Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in His name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defence forces, the ever-vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat to humanity from aliens, heretics, mutants -- and far, far worse. To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods." Credits to: Games Workshop

"For others, the Great Crusade ended long ago. For us, it will not cease until all the worlds of Mankind are united once more and the Emperor's golden age returns." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Imperial Fists are one of the First Founding Chapters of the Space Marines and were originally the VII Legion of the Legiones Astartes raised by the Emperor Himself from across Terra during the Unification Wars. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dorn and his Legion proved the masters of every aspect of warfare, but in particular the Imperial Fists excelled at siege craft, whether on the attack or the defence. This propelled them into a bitter rivalry with the Iron Warriors Legion and their jealous primarch Perturabo, the flames of which were wantonly fanned by Fulgrim, the primarch of the Emperor's Children Legion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this age of betrayal, one Legion stood as a pillar of loyalty amongst the sea of doubt. The Imperial Fists and Rogal Dorn, ever true, never swerving from the toll demanded by a war of brothers, bore the weight of loyalty without breaking, but not without cost. Sacrifice without limit changed those who survived. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As fate would have it, Dorn's prediction was put tragically to the test when, at the height of the Siege of Terra, the fortifications he had added to the Imperial Palace were sorely tested by the Traitor Legions. The Warmaster Horus fell in combat to the Emperor before the matter could be truly decided.

[Not to fear, I put the rest in the secret description] [Warhammer 40K] Vulkan, 18 of the 20 primarchs. He is one of the many sons of the Emperor. Primarchs are genetically modified humans, born from the Emperor's geneseed directly. Vulkan is the father and leader of the 18th legion, the Salamanders. The Salamanders, once called the Drake Warriors, adorn their armor in a deep green, with black and gold trims. They adorn themselves in the hide of dragons and bones of dragons. The Salamanders have a geneseed defect that, once feeling the harsh radiation of Noctune, their skin turns a jet black with coal-like texture, and glowing crimson eyes. [Please, I swear I'm not making this up, it's cannon] The XVIIIth Legion, created from Vulkan's genome and originally known as the Dragon Warriors, was re-named the Salamanders after the great fire-resistant reptiles native to his volcanic homeworld of Nocturne in memory of the legendary contest between the Emperor and Vulkan in 832.M30 that had involved slaying one of those dangerous beasts. The outcome of this contest had revealed the Emperor's identity to Vulkan and restored the primarch to the Imperium. Like his genetic father, Vulkan was a Perpetual, a rare Human mutant blessed with extraordinary, almost supernatural cellular regeneration that allowed him to be resurrected from death over and over no matter how much damage his body suffered. Vulkan was able to regenerate fully from any injury, including a death that resulted in his complete molecular disintegration. This ability was unknown to him until the Horus Heresy and his near-death from an orbital atomic strike unleashed by the Iron Warriors' fleet at the Drop Site Massacre on Isstvan V. Succesor Chapters: Black Dragons, Black Vipers, Covenent of Fire, Dark Krakens, Dragonspears, Iron Drakes, Storm Giants Legion: 18th Legion, loyal to the Imperium of Mann and Emperor of Mankind Primarch: Vulkan Homeworld: Nocturne Fortress-Monastery: Moon of Nocturne, Prometheus

Angron is angry, but a lot of that is the Butcher's Nails. I think the most interesting interpretation of his personality is that he has a bad case of PTSD based on his failed gladiator rebellion on Nuceria and how it ended. Read Betrayer. Fulgrim is a perfectionist, but he's somewhat insecure. Read Fulgrim. Guilliman is in control. He's incredibly self-possessed and rational almost to a fault. Read Know No Fear. Horus is proud. It's both his strength, when it's justified, and his weakness, when it's threatened. Read Horus Rising. Jaghatai is thoughtful, but when he acts he does so quickly and decisively. Magnus is inquisitive and impulsive. He wants to know everything, and damn the consequences. Read A Thousand Sons. Perturabo is just mad at the world. All he wants is to invent and build, but his job is to tear everything down. And even when he does it well, he doesn't get the respect he wants. Read Angel Exterminatus (I've heard the recent Perturabo is good, but I haven't read it, yet.) I'm not sure I really have a good handle on Sanguinius's personality, but the best take on him is probably in Fear to Tread. he is charismatic and easygoing, surprisingly down to earth for his outer appearance. The sort of person one would naturally defer to, which is why he was Emperor of Secundus. The other side.... puts Angron to shame for sheer menace, but its controlled. Wrath incarnate, he gives off a pyschic aura of power that was enough to scare the shit out of Kurze and Guilliman at the same time.
