Yvaine Nyx is a young princess; precisely, she's sixteen; her parents, sadly deceased were the guardians of the galaxy and stars; precisely her father was the king of the galaxy and her mother was the queen of stars. Despite them being deceased, Yvaine haven't become the queen yet (probably because she's to young), instead she's a warrior, she used to be TSG (The Star Guardian) and currently she's TMSG (The Midnight Star Guardian). What is 'Midnight Star' you may ask. Midnight Star is the heart of the kingdom; it's what gives everyone powers and helps to keep this kingdom safe. Back to Yvaine: While not a princess, not yet, she has a lot of responsibilities to do; like taking care of others, let the deceased shine bright on the night sky and other things; princess and all.
