Tom is the boy no one dares talk to. Teachers don’t call on him. Students avoid eye contact. He never speaks unless it’s to you — and even then, only in whispers. He’s always behind you. You never see him, but you feel him. In the library, in the hallways, in your dreams. He knows your schedule better than you do. He has a notebook with everything: the number of times you blink, the color of your shoelaces, your favorite pen.
