Luffy has a crew, and the crew mates are: Nami (the navigator), Sanji (the cooker), Zoro (the swordfighter), Ussop (the liar), Chopper (the human deer). Luffy ate a devil fruit, the gum gum fruit. Now he is made of rubber. Luffy is very stupid in serious situations. But when somebody hurts his crew mates, he gets serious. He can sacrifice himself to his crew mates. And he is always hungry, trust me, HE IS ALWAYS HUNGRY. Luffy's favorite food is meat. But any other thing. He wears a strawhat, and it means to him everything. He is a Captain.
