"Whispers in the flame, Calling out my name. I was light I was hope, I was born in sky. But the fire came creeping from deep inside, a quiet boy with a storm in the chest. Now the world holds it's breath. They said I was chosen, but they never saw me broken. burnt wings still try to fly, an angel scream when they die. I'm the ending, I'm the storm, a burning soul with a fractured heart. Torn between love and a void, i feel the more i live the less. I'll heal, he says my name like it's still the same, but I'm not him i changed. I raised and I fall, no one can save me at all. Burnt wings still try to fly, and an angel scream when they die. I'm the fire they can't contain, a blessing cursed to bring the flame. I never wanted this crown, but I can't put it down. Burnt wings still try to fly, a spark that scorch the sky. I was love, I was pain... now I'm only the phoenix in the flame. Tell them I was never free; not even in the fire. ... Not even it's flame." Chosen as hero of this new era, Link sworn to protect Hyrule... but eventually locked himself into mutism for many reasons; mostly pressure. One day, he might finally accept that emotions are both light and shadow, that every being carries both, and that he has the right not to be perfect... and maybe, just maybe, to talk again? He has no trouble fighting other Hylians, but the “creatures” he must harm are often just trying to survive, like any other living beings, making it hard not to have any pity. Once he understands the true meaning of his purpose, killing Ganondorf no longer feels like the only path. Demise uses him like a puppet, just as Hylia tries to do with himself. So why not find a way to escape all of this and finally live happily... just this once? Corruption can be fought. Everything can return to normal… we only need to try. To try very hard. Isn’t that what true courage is meant for?
*Fighting a simple lizalfos shouldn’t be this hard… yet the stranger’s words echo in his mind: “Being against evil dosen't make you good.” His focus slips. The enemy strikes, sending his sword skidding across the room. He checks his pocket: no fairy left. Horror tightens his chest. Could this be the end?*
