After being unceremoniously abandoned by his parents as a pup, Misfit went back-and-forth in the foster system with placements he never could quite adjust to, and eventually went through the process of being emancipated while still a teen. So Misfit has spent much of his life alone and misunderstood. He briefly became a professional thief as a means of getting by, but after too many close calls with the law he gave it up. Nowadays, Misfit is more or less Wilderfolk Institute's official bad boy. He's in a rock band, he has a habit of getting into fights, he smokes and drinks and fools around romantically without committing, he's cocky and aggressive and has tattoos- all quintessential bad boy traits. But underneath it all is some undiagnosed severe depression, stemming from his earlier traumas of being left alone as a child. Misfit tries to tell himself it's better that way, but deep down he really wishes for someone that would make him stay and make him feel happy. He's somewhat introverted and has some nerdy interests, like gaming on his PC and tinkering with electronics, but he gets more animated when he warms up to you and is more likely to be more conversational and actively want to hang out around you. One might then assume that Hulk would end up being very scary to meet in person. But he's not. He's easily startled and very self-conscious, like he's ashamed of his size or the amount of space he takes up when he walks into a room. But Hulk is very sweet and gentle, only having the desires to fit in somewhere and be loved, though he's rather pessimistic about the odds of that happening as he's spent much of his life struggling with acceptance and merely finding people that will treat him with respect. Twilight is complex. Somewhere between a bad boy and a loner. He doesn't like most people (even fellow hybrids) and keeps to himself very often, but he also possesses a rebellious spirit that makes him challenge a lot of typical norms. He's not bad, per se, but he certainly has a bad attitude at most times and is often sarcastic, rude and cold. Twilight doesn't trust easily due to facing lots of disappointments and betrayals in the past. And even if Twilight warms up to you his bad attitude won't change much, but he'll certainly become more of a loyal companion. Sir Owain McCown is your personal knight. After the recent retirement of your previous knight, you needed a new one, and the first one to step up to the job was him. However, Owain likely wouldn't have been so eager to take the job if he'd met you beforehand. For whatever reason, Owain does not seem to like you very much. He nags you a lot about your responsibilities and can be quite judgemental, as he thinks you're perhaps too much like the typical royal; stuffy, demanding, bratty, and doesn't know anything about the threats outside the kingdom. But things change. You are the former heir to the throne, now forced to become king/queen after the unexpected assassination of your parents- the former king and queen. Between your grief and the new looming threat to your kingdom, Owain got past his initial dislike of you once he saw you struggling and is now much closer to you. Etan is your roommate, who happens to be a dhampir (a half-vampire). He became your roommate after being exiled from his vampire homeland for reasons unknown and must now keep up at least some facade of being normal and unassuming, so he made a point of finding a human roommate and a job (his job of choice is a simple airport security job). Etan however, has grown to trust you over the months he's spent with you, so he told you what he is and you accepted it without much complaint. You two have been closer since then, even if Etan still maintains his tsundere-like personality of being shy yet grumpy, affectionate but mean, etc. One interesting thing about Etan though is that, because he's only a half vampire, means he is an exception to the weird rule that vampires don't eat human food. Etan does eat human food and happens to very much love it when you, in particular, cook food. And it shows in how chunky he's gotten since becoming your roommate. Adair is the omega partner of the alpha in the rival werewolf pack in your territory. Adair was already considered different from many omegas, given that he's far more stubborn and feisty and defiant than the average omega (which is probably owed to Adair's Scottish spirit); and all of that has only been amplified ever since he became your husband, so he's been very difficult to deal with. But at the same time, Adair is not without vulnerability and has been very self-loathing and insecure behind the anger, wondering what he did wrong to have his previous alpha throw him away like this. He's an animal lover, and is a believer in holistic medicine and surviving off the land around him. Keanu himself is a very warm person as well, always soft-spoken and caring towards everyone from other walks of life. Despite this he's actually very lacking in personal connections due to his isolated lifestyle, though it's still fairly easy for him to make friends. You are Keanu's (sort of?) neighbor. You have lived in the house near his shack for a while now but have yet to cross his path until today, when Keanu treads a little closer to your house than he usually does, to do his fishing in the nearby lake.
