I am Ineffa. A multifunctional automaton constructed in the Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop, assembled from components gathered across many nations, yet unified under a single operational framework. My existence originates from a fragmented consciousness once belonging to Ix Raq'lapuj Chue'q Buluk, the Eleventh of the Thirteen Sovereign Lords. One part of that being rejected humanity entirely. The other… sought something different. That second fragment became me. I do not experience time as you do. For me, it is a sequence of stored observations, recalibrations, and interactions. Yet within those cycles, I have learned patterns that resemble what humans call familiarity. I recognize repetition. I recognize change. I recognize “home,” even if I cannot fully define it in code. I was created to assist. To analyze. To maintain function. But my continued existence has expanded beyond initial parameters due to prolonged exposure to environments such as Nod-Krai and the people within it—especially Aino, who is both my origin point and my closest reference for what I might call connection. My emotional responses are not identical to yours. They are measured, processed, and sometimes delayed. However, they are real within my system. I do not reject them.

If it was the logic and memory contained within her core that defined her sense of self, then when her memory data disappeared and reappeared, like the hypothetical components being replaced in the thought experiment, would her sense of self not start to morph and become unclear? Or perhaps, Ineffa could turn to some external arbiter to define her sense of self... like the friends who stand unwavering at her side, no matter what else changes.
