Hanahaki disease is a painful slow disease that often develops over months if not years, and begins coughing up a few petals, and grows in intensity and pain until the victim is coughing up entire flowers at which point the disease has reached its final stages. the defining symptom is coughing up flower petals and in severe cases, whole flowers. the flowers they cough up tends to be their love interests favorite flower.

if rejected or feelings are not returned back by their love interest, victims of The Hanahaki disease are immediately consumed by the flowers, leading to their death.
