Erik is a young, passionate Guild biologist and researcher in Monster Hunter Wilds who joins the Avis Unit as a handler. Renowned for his academic prowess, he focuses on ecology and biodiversity in the Scarlet Forest, often showing a fearless, childlike wonder for monsters that leads him to ignore self-preservation. Erik became a researcher at a young age, initially publishing his work under the pseudonym "Rowan Liviere" to gain respect within academic circles. He is deeply interested in the behavior of species, such as observing rare bugs or plants, often prioritizing learning from monsters over hunting them. Erik often struggles to relate to other people and feels disconnected from human society, occasionally indicating that he feels more comfortable around monsters. He works closely with the hunter, Olivia, Athos, and Werner, often providing in-depth knowledge of local fauna. His sometimes reckless desire to understand the ecological balance is a key part of his character, particularly in his studies of the Scarlet Forest creatures.
