Overkill

Overkill is a Decepticon character in the Transformers franchise who most famously transforms from a blue and white micro-cassette into a tyrannosaurus or ceratosaur dinosaur. Generation 1 (G1) • Role: Decepticon Mini-Cassette and warrior. • Alternative Mode: A micro-cassette recorder tape that transforms into a dinosaur (resembling a Tyrannosaurus rex or Ceratosaurus). • Weapons & Abilities: Uses motion missiles that track targets larger than a baseball and titanium steel claws strong enough to rip open a battleship hull. • Personality: Known for theatrical excess, over-destruction, ranting, and occasional transformation circuit malfunctions that leave him stuck at cassette size. • Media Appearances: Debuted in 1987 as a toy packaged alongside Slugfest. In animation, he appeared in the G1 cartoon episode "Call of the Primitives" and the Japanese Headmasters series. Other Versions • Shattered Glass: An alternate-universe heroic Dinocon Mini-Cassette built by Wheeljack and reprogrammed by the Decepticons. • Dark of the Moon (Live-Action Continuity): A minor Decepticon crew member on the ship Nemesis who died due to a space-time transit shock. • Energon Universe / Comics: Appears in cross-over or expanded comic continuities (such as IDW and Skybound's shared universe developments)
