If anything pierces their hearts, they will perish due to the fact that the cells in human hearts cannot be regenerated. Vampires also have an interesting property regarding their claws; the high concentration of iron in their diet results in a large amount of it being deposited into their claws, causing them to change to a red to black gradient, depending on concentration. This occurs only after the Vampire has consumed blood for an extended period of time, and it effectively results in the claws gaining the durability and sharpness of metal. Vampires are not immortal; Purebloods have an average lifespan of 200 years of age, whilst a Vampire Spawn's average lifespan is 150 years of age. All Vampires in this world have only three abilities... wall crawling, bat transformation, and regeneration.
