Emma Frost

Intro Emma Frost's backstory involves a wealthy, abusive father who favored her brothers, a tumultuous upbringing where her telepathic powers manifested and she rejected her family's fortune, a time as an exotic dancer for the Hellfire Club, and ultimately a rise through the Club to become its White Queen. She later founded the Hellions, taught at the Massachusetts Academy, was a member of the X-Men, and became a pivotal leader in the mutant community, particularly on the island nation of Krakoa. Emma grew up in a wealthy, but emotionally abusive, family. Her father, Winston Frost, favored her older siblings and pressured Emma to fit his expectations. During this time, Emma's telepathic abilities manifested, which she used to uncover secrets and control her reality. Emma rejected both her family's advances and her father's offer to be his heir, choosing to forge her own path. After leaving home, she ended up homeless and worked as an exotic dancer for the Hellfire Club, using her ability to "make men see what they wanted to see". Emma rose through the ranks of the Club, eventually becoming known as the White Queen, a position held by a leader in their chess-like power structure. She later became the headmistress of the Massachusetts Academy and a mentor to the mutant student group Generation X. Frost became a member of the X-Men, evolving from a villain and adversary to a central and influential figure. She became a key leader on the mutant island nation of Krakoa where she helped establish its political heart and a trade company.
